Log store in 3D

Draw a log store the way it's built: bearers on the ground and a floor with gaps for the air, a side at each end cut to slope to the back, slats across the back and a roof tipped 10° so the rain runs off behind.

Three lessons to take at your own pace. Watch each step as often as you like. Nothing to download, no account.

The lessons

New boards in yellow

  1. Lesson 1, 15 minutes

    A floor on bearers

Lay three bearers on the ground, 1200 long, 50 wide and 75 high, 275 apart. Then nine floor boards across them, 600 long, 120 wide and 28 thick, 15 apart so the air gets under the logs.

  2. Lesson 2, 15 minutes

Sides that slope to the back

Stand a side on each end of the floor, from 18 mm exterior plywood: 600 deep and 1100 high at the front, its top cut to slope down 106 to the back, so the rain runs off behind.

  3. Lesson 3, 15 minutes

Slats at the back, and the roof

Fix eight slats across the back, 1200 long, 100 high and 22 thick, 20 apart, the bottom one level with the floor. Then a roof of 18 mm plywood, 1200 × 700, tipped down 10° to the back.
