The lessons

New boards in yellow

  1. Lesson 1, 10 minutes

    The floor and the back

Start the bird box: a back, 150 wide and 380 high, and a floor in front of it, 150 × 150, from 15 mm board. Each one its own component.

  2. Lesson 2, 15 minutes

    Sides cut to a slope

Stand a side on the floor, 150 deep and 235 high, then cut its top to a slope, 40 lower at the front, so the roof sheds the rain. Copy it for the other side.

  3. Lesson 3, 15 minutes

    The front, with its hole

Put the front on: 150 wide, 205 high, 15 thick, with a hole 25 across, its middle 155 up. That size of hole is right for blue tits.

  4. Lesson 4, 15 minutes

    The roof, at 15°

Put the roof on: a board 200 × 150, 15 thick, tipped down 15° at the front so the rain runs off. It turns on its back edge, on the top of the sides, tight against the back.
